Lecture Objectives This seminar is designed for graduate students to understand basic principles and recent progress of Spintronics. The scope of this seminar embraces the magnetotransport phenomena associated with electron spins and the applications of Spintronics. This lecture will cover the theoretical and experimental details of giant magnetoresistance, tunnel magnetoresistance, spin currents, spin Hall effects, spin transfer torque, magnetization dynamics, ultrafast switching, spin injection, magnonics, magnetic imaging and microscopy, domain wall dynamics, and E-field control of magnetism.
