Electro-Functionality Materials Engineering
Electro-functionality materials engineering is a field dealing with materials, devices and modules related to the efficient use of electrical energy. this field seeks device stability, with the aim of developing future green power sources and also the enhancement of the happiness of humankinds. The field involves superconducting material technology, in which superconducting materials, their physical properties, and the fabrication and application of next-generation high temperature superconducting coated conductors, are studied. Nanotechnology based electrical materials and parts technologies can make electrical machinery thinner, more highly efficient, more highly dense and cheaper, and can make electrical and electronic devices environmentally-friendly and multi-functional. Environmentally-friendly and green energy source technologies related to lithium batteries, lithium ion capacitors, metal-air batteries, printed batteries, organic solar cells, and nano-embedded thermoelectric materials and modules for high-efficiency energy conversion and storage, and nanotechnology and electricity based bio-medical technologies that can be applied to nano membranes and nano structures for bio-medical fields are also subjects of interest. The present major aims to cultivate experts in the above mentioned fields, people who will play leadership roles in implementing the low-carbon green growth policy of the Korean government by developing high value products and bringing them to the public.
